Demon Slayer Katana

Collection: Demon Slayer Katana

Demon Slayer swords are the Nichirin blades of the series, the swords that shift color in the hands of the slayer who grips them. This collection brings together full-size replicas for Tanjiro, Rengoku, Zenitsu, Giyu, Shinobu, Muichiro, Mitsuri, Sanemi, Tengen, Kanao and Kokushibo. Each is made to order in 1060 carbon steel and, except Tengen's pair, comes sharpened or not sharpened, with optional engraving for $20. Prices run from $329 to $429, delivery is free from $200, and US customers pay no customs fees. Plan on 3 to 4 weeks from order to your door. Choose your character below.

What is a Nichirin sword?

In the series, Nichirin swords are forged from scarlet crimson iron sand and scarlet crimson ore, minerals that soak up sunlight, the one thing demons cannot withstand. The blade changes color when its owner grips it. Rengoku's blade turns red like his Flame Breathing, and Tanjiro's turns black, which is unusual in the story. That color-changing steel does not exist, so these Demon Slayer swords are replicas: 1060 carbon steel blades inspired by each character's sword, fan-made and not officially licensed. For the story behind the blades, read our Demon Slayer sword guide.

The Demon Slayer swords in this collection

Seven of the Hashira, the Demon Slayer Corps' top-ranked swordsmen, are here: Giyu, Shinobu, Rengoku, Tengen, Muichiro, Mitsuri and Sanemi. Tanjiro, Kanao, Zenitsu and Kokushibo complete the lineup.

Tanjiro Kamado: the black blade

Tanjiro's black Nichirin blade is the sword the whole series follows. Two versions are listed, the Tanjiro Kamado sword and the Tanjiro Kamado sword V2, so compare the photos on both pages.

Rengoku: the Flame Hashira

Kyojuro Rengoku is the Flame Hashira. In the series his red Nichirin blade has a flame-shaped guard. The Rengoku sword is inspired by that blade.

Zenitsu: Thunder Breathing

Zenitsu Agatsuma is known for the First Form of Thunder Breathing, Thunderclap and Flash, and his blade is yellow. The Zenitsu sword follows his design.

Giyu: the Water Hashira

Giyu Tomioka is the Water Hashira, a quiet swordsman who sets Tanjiro on his path. The Giyu sword is inspired by his Nichirin blade.

Muichiro: the Mist Hashira

Muichiro Tokito is the Mist Hashira and the youngest of the Hashira. The Muichiro sword follows his design.

Mitsuri: the Love Hashira

Mitsuri Kanroji is the Love Hashira. In the series her blade is a long, flexible whip sword; the Mitsuri sword is a rigid steel katana, so check the photos.

Sanemi: the Wind Hashira

Sanemi Shinazugawa is the Wind Hashira, known for his scarred, aggressive style. The Sanemi sword is inspired by his blade.

Tengen Uzui: the Sound Hashira

In the series Tengen uses two cleaver-like blades joined by a chain. This listing, the Tengen Uzui sword set, is a set of two katanas, offered not sharpened only.

Shinobu: the Insect Hashira

Shinobu Kocho is the Insect Hashira. Her slender, needle-like Nichirin blade carries wisteria poison in the series. The Shinobu sword pays tribute to it in 1060 carbon steel.

Kanao: Flower Breathing

Kanao Tsuyuri is Shinobu's successor and fights with Flower Breathing and a pink Nichirin blade. The Kanao sword is inspired by it.

Kokushibo: Upper Moon One

Kokushibo is Upper Moon One, and in the series his blade is grown from his own flesh. The Kokushibo sword is inspired by it.

How to choose your Demon Slayer sword

Prices run from $329 to $429 depending on the model: Rengoku, Shinobu and Kanao are $429, Tengen's set is $379 and the rest are $329. Nearly every sword is offered sharpened or not sharpened, and engraving is optional for $20. Not sharpened suits a shelf, a stand or cosplay photos. Sharpened is for collectors who want the blade finished with an edge: treat it like any edged blade, keep it sheathed and out of children's reach.

Terms like saya, tsuba and ito are explained in our Japanese sword glossary. To show several swords together, add stands or wall mounts from our accessories collection.

Demon Slayer swords: your questions

Are these real Nichirin swords?

No. Nichirin steel only exists in the series. These are replicas in 1060 carbon steel, fan-made and not officially licensed, inspired by each character's blade.

Is it legal to own a Demon Slayer sword in the US?

In the US, laws vary by state and city, so check your local rules before you order. Our katana ownership laws guide explains what to look for. This is general information, not legal advice.

How long does delivery take, and are there customs fees?

Each sword is made to order. Plan on 3 to 4 weeks in total: about 1 to 2 weeks of production, then 1 to 2 weeks of delivery. Delivery is free from $200, so every sword here ships free, and there are no customs fees for US customers. See our customs and duties page.

Are the swords sharpened?

Almost every model is offered both ways, sharpened or not sharpened. Tengen's set is not sharpened only. Not sharpened suits display and cosplay photos.

How do I look after a carbon steel sword?

Damp is what rusts carbon steel. After handling, wipe the blade with a soft dry cloth, leave a thin film of sword oil on it and keep the sword in a dry room. Our guide on how to care for a katana covers the steps.
